About this place
One of the pleasures of Pferd coffee is being able to talk through your coffee preferences and get help choosing beans. One visitor who dislikes acidity was recommended a deeper, richer cup; even if you do not know much about coffee beans, your mood and preferences can guide the choice. Visitors have also described having the beans ground to order and each cup drip-brewed, and noted that the aroma opens up after a sip. It is a good place to take your time over the differences between beans.
The menu includes Brazil W and Dominican Jarabacoa, as well as Mild Blend, Pferd Blend and Italian Blend. Brazil W is 580 yen, Dominican Jarabacoa is 620 yen, and blends start at 580 yen. One visitor singled out the appealing aroma of a dark-roasted Kenya; another enjoyed a light roast. A tasting of Brazil and Kenya also prompted one visitor to notice the distinctive character of each, making another origin an appealing choice next time.
To go with your coffee, there are rice-flour sablés in 2 flavours: wasanbon sugar and cinnamon. A set of 1 costs 200 yen. One visitor found them not too sweet, and they may catch the eye of anyone looking for a gluten-free menu option. The baked-goods list also includes Fleur and fruit cake.
Alongside cups that let you savour the character of individual beans, there are options such as café au lait, iced café au lait and honey cold coffee. A visitor who took café au lait and beans to go recalled how the milk and coffee brought out the best in each other. You can settle in for a coffee and sablé, or take home beans to enjoy later.
